Common question
What is the best way to get rid of old mattresses?
For a single mattress, check your city’s bulk pickup first. Rogers takes mattresses only if they’re wrapped in plastic. Springdale allows up to four mattresses or box springs a year. Fayetteville takes mattresses and box springs in its yearly bulky pickup and at its bulky waste drop-offs. In Bentonville, each mattress needs its own large-item request.
If you’d rather not haul it to the curb or wait for pickup day, we take it. Our mattress removal crew carries it out from wherever it is, box spring and frame too. There’s no extra charge for the mattress: it’s priced with the rest of your load, or on its own if it’s the only item.
Depending on its condition, it goes to a recycler or the landfill.
City rules from City of Rogers: GFL Curbside Waste, City of Springdale: Bulky Waste Program, City of Fayetteville: Bulky Waste and City of Bentonville: Large Item Pickup, checked September 30, 2026. Rules and fees change, so confirm with your city before you set anything out. Chums is not affiliated with any city, district or hauler.
