Common question
What is the best way to get rid of old appliances?
It depends on the appliance and your city. Fridges, freezers and air conditioners hold refrigerant, so they’re handled differently from a washer or a stove.
Fayetteville charges a Freon recovery fee for each of those units. Rogers’ bulk pickup takes common appliances only if they’re non-Freon. Springdale takes white goods, but refrigerant has to be removed by a licensed professional first, with documentation. Bella Vista runs two appliance pickups a year, with pre-registration.
If that’s more steps than you want, we haul them as they are. Our appliance removal covers refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, stoves and water heaters, carried out from the basement or upstairs, and refrigerant units go to proper recycling. Text a photo of the unit and where it sits for a price.
City rules from City of Fayetteville: Bulky Waste, City of Rogers: GFL Curbside Waste, City of Springdale: Bulky Waste Program and City of Bella Vista: Trash & Recycling, checked September 30, 2026. Rules and fees change, so confirm with your city before you set anything out. Chums is not affiliated with any city, district or hauler.
